Pitch the editors

A pitch is for one piece. It is not a way to join the Conservatory.

What we look for

  • Written from the condition: you grew up between cultures, and it shows in how you see.

  • Big subjects brought down to one person. Money, borders and cities, through a moment you felt.

  • Africa and Asia stand level with Europe. The global south is never written as a place of lack.

  • Patterns, not people. No named private individuals or families.

What we don’t take

  • Marketing, or a quick take on this week’s headline.

How it works

  1. 1

Send a few lines, plus one piece you’ve already written.

  2. 2

If it fits, an editor calls you. The call is where we decide.

  3. 3

Every piece passes the editors before it runs.

Which collection is it for?

Perspectives is written by the Nurubian fellows, so it takes no pitches.
