What Stability Never Promises

There is a version of the same story some of us have had to face. An unremarkable morning, beginning like a regular morning, with regular weather, a regular coffee, and a regular walk to work. And then a message undoes, in one motion, any certainty you'd built.

There's rarely cruelty in how it arrives; if anything, a forced politeness that makes it worse. What lingers after is more than a loss of income; it's a broken confidence in yourself. It calls for a revision of what you thought you believed about solid ground, and worse, about people. The quiet rumination follows: signs you may have missed.

For many in the world, this is the current reality. Effort was never quite the currency it once promised to be. You can work with passion and devotion for years, and still be filed, eventually, under disposable. However sour, that is and should never be a reflection of your worth.

A company can end a role, but it cannot end whatever it was that made you. Hold on to that, especially now. Confidence is expensive to buy, and once purchased, it should be expensive to sell. No matter how quickly the ground moves, it always survives the severance. So do you.
